XMPP Server reworked for integration with ONLYOFFICE Groups (packaged as Community Server).

Introduction

If you've installed the ONLYOFFICE collaboration platform without the ONLYOFFICE XMPP Server component, install the ONLYOFFICE Talk solution to use the instant messenger on your portal.

General system requirements and recommendations are:

CPU

dual core 2 GHz or better
RAM

at least 2 GB, but depends of the host OS. More is better
HDD

at least 20 GB of free space
OS

Microsoft Windows Server 2016 or later

This guide will show you how to install ONLYOFFICE Talk without efforts using the express installation file.

Step 1. Download ONLYOFFICE Talk

To download the ONLYOFFICE Talk installation file, go to this page, click the Downloads link next to the necessary version and download the ONLYOFFICE_XMPPSERVER_Win-install.(version_number).exe file.

Step 2. Install ONLYOFFICE Talk

Double-click the .exe file you have just downloaded - the ONLYOFFICE XMPP Server Setup Wizard will be launched. Click the Next > button to start the installation process.

Read the GNU General Public License carefully and check the I accept the terms in the License Agreement option if you agree with them. Then click the Next > button.

By default ONLYOFFICE Talk will be installed to the following folder: C:\Program Files (x86)\Ascensio System SIA\CommunityServer\. If needed you can change it clicking the Browse button and selecting the necessary folder on your computer. Then click the Next > button.

Click the Install button to start the installation process. It may take several minutes.

Once the installation process is completed, click the Finish button to launch ONLYOFFICE Talk.

Now you can open your portal in a web browser and start using Talk.
